Referring Patients

Referring a patient to the Victorian Centre for Mental Health is a straight forward process. No matter which of our services or programs you direct your patient to.

Process to refer patients

General Practitioner or Psychiatrist can arrange admission to The Victorian Centre for Mental Health via our Intake Department.

We understand that every GP Practice has different procedures, thus there are two options of sending us patients’ referral via email or FAX.

Both options are received in an electronic format. All referrals are handle in a private and confidential manner as is all information. Upon receipt of GP referral.  We will endeavour to acknowledge  referrals within 5 business days to the sender.

Once our Intake Coordinator has received your referral letter will then contact the patient to obtain general information, including Health Fund details. Once the patients Health Fund has been checked we will contact the patient regarding any out of pocket expenses that may be incurred.

Our Intake Coordinator will contact the patient and let them know what time to arrive to commence our treatment program.
